SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands promotes knowledge and citizen awareness of the unique trees of the islands through the theatrical show ‘Living Beings-Living Legends’, by the KDO Theater company .
This free access artistic proposal, subsidized by the Regional Department, is based on the collection of poems by José de Viera y Clavijo and other Canarian authors to underline the importance of trees and the incalculable benefits they generate for humanity. This is told through a main sculptural element that consists of a 6-meter-high tree, which represents all those unique tree specimens, making reference to the Catalog of Species of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The head of the Ministry, José Antonio Valbuena, explained that this project “aims to value a message full of hope to emphasize the need to protect our habitat to help the environment with small actions by each of the citizens and citizens, as well as the need to take care of our environment to improve the population’s quality of life”.
This theatrical proposal will be offered this Sunday in the Plaza de la Constitución in La Orotava and next October 23 in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago in Santiago del Teide (both in Tenerife).
‘Living Beings-Living Legends’ is a show designed for the enjoyment of the whole family, ideal for children, young people and adults and designed to be performed outdoors in squares and open spaces, bringing the proposal closer to the public with a perimeter staging, where public-actor interaction is one of the objectives of this project.
This proposal also proposes a choreography with the attending public carried out through sign language with which it is intended to integrate all possible languages of communication to make the initiative more accessible and closer.
