The Civil Guard has developed during the month of September the so-called Operation Green Weekcarried out by the different Investigation Units of the Civil Guard in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in order to locate and dismantle points of sale and cultivation of marijuana and other products of cannabis origin.
Due to the incipient number of illegal marijuana greenhouses, the Civil Guard Command of Santa Cruz de Tenerife decided to develop a comprehensive action plan to attack them, ranging from their location to their final eradication.
In this way, among the various affected units, up to 19 different investigations were carried out, which led to the carrying out of interventions, distributed throughout all the islands of the Province: three in El Hierro, four in La Gomera, three in La Palma and nine in Tenerife. Among all these police actions, 1,166 plants were seized, many of them extremely exotic varieties, such as (Devil Kiss, Purple, Lemon Tree, among others), weighing 42 kilograms.
