SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A 69-year-old man died this Saturday after falling down a ravine in the Pino Blanco area, near Masca, in the Tenerife municipality of Buenavista del Norte, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1 -two.
The event occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert that a person had fallen down a ravine into an area of difficult access.
On the part of Cecoes 1-1-2, a rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Government of the Canary Islands (GES), a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police and Civil Guard were activated.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter located the area of the incident, lowered themselves from the aircraft and accessed the affected person who, after hoisting him up, was evacuated with serious injuries to the helipad of Tenerife North Airport, arriving in cardiorespiratory arrest.
The SUC medicalized ambulance staff, who was waiting for the helicopter to arrive, assisted the affected person by performing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success and confirming his death.
The Civil Guard took charge until the arrival of the Judicial Authority.
