The Municipality of Los Realejos He assures that he has requested on several occasions to the Council of Tenerife that accelerates the execution of the works of the sanitation collectors in the area of The rooms to avoid the traffic chaos suffered by one of the main entrances to the municipality. Mayor, Adolfo Gonzalez (PP)acknowledges that the situation has worsened “further after the imposed closure of the access to the TF-5 by El Patronato”.
González underlines that this is a much-needed construction project for the regional sanitation network, promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the state entity Aquaes (Waters from the Basins of Spain SA), “included in a larger action to channel wastewater from Los Realejos, La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz” towards the regional sewage treatment plant Punta Bravain the tourist city.
“This investment and this work do not depend on the Municipality of Los Realejos, although it is developed in our municipality. The municipal technicians collaborate with the construction management for as many technical questions as are required and we have always been at their disposal to facilitate whatever they deem and collaborate in everything they require of us”, details the realejero mayor.
Due to the traffic jams that are occurring on a regular basis and the inconvenience suffered by drivers at the entrance and exit of the municipality from or to the TF-5González insists that “we have conveyed on several occasions the urgent need to speed up the work, even more after the imposed closure of access to the TF-5 by El Patronatorequesting that the technical and human resources be doubled in the last section that make it possible to finish it within the initial period foreseen, at the end of October”.

Since the royal government (PP) they trust that this demand will be fulfilled and the traffic problems will end at the end of this month and the mayor remarks that the Consistory “is available to those responsible for this work to collaborate in everything they need”.
The Cabildo and Aquaes are currently working on the collectors in the areas of Los Martillos, Los Cuartos, La Florida and San Jerónimo, and the work consists of a total of about 10 sections of pipe distributed among the four municipalities, with a total length of almost 12 kilometers. This project also includes two sewage pumping stations in The Realejosin San Vicente, and another in The slope of the villageas well as the improvement of other existing pumping stations in Cross portlocated in Playa Jardín, El Faro, San Telmo and Martiánez.
The total execution period for these works is 21 months and the actions began at the beginning of last March, while its completion is scheduled for December 2023.
