Surfe’s Guide to Playa de The Americas is the title of a documentary by Tenerife surfer Nacho Sebastiá, who together with his brother Paolo Giorgi creates a piece of great artistic and creative value focused on the dissemination of the natural resources of the south of Tenerife and the culture of surfing. Although it offers shots of various areas of the Island, the film is shot almost entirely in Arona. “I have chosen Arona not only because of my connection – he was born in Los Cristianos 27 years ago – but also because of the easy accessibility to all the beaches and, above all, because we have 12 different waves in less than three kilometers of coastline, something unique in Europe », he points out.
The project is directed by Nacho Sebastiá himself, together with a professional camera crew, who traveled to the island with the idea of obtain a result of a high audiovisual level that enables «a product respected by the international industry to which any image of surfing is not worth it, high quality is necessary on the part of the surfer and the filming team, ”says the creator from the Hotel Bitácora, one of the main sponsors of the documentary together with Turismo de Tenerife, Turismo de Arona and Corona.
The final result, consisting of a two-part documentary and a digital guide to the Island for surfers, will be screened from mid-November.
Nacho Sebastiá, who started surfing when he was 11 years old, focuses his activity on free surfing and digital content –he enjoys international recognition for his style and aesthetics–, which narrate an emotional and intimate reality, having attended the most important festivals in the industry . He is also the owner of Tilegit Surf School, a school in Las Americas from which helps local athletes improve their surfing and achieve international achievements.
