The former socialist mayor of San Juan de la Rambla Fidela Velazquez Since November 2020, he has been serving a sentence of seven year disqualification for employment or public office for prevaricating by approving a decree of extraordinary bonuses for municipal personnel just before the motion of censure that removed her from office in 2013. Velázquez leads a group that believes that “the North has a future and it is our obligation to demand solutions and balanced planning for the island of Tenerife». Before fifty people from various northern municipalities, this citizen entity advocated establishing itself as an alternative to “achieve the purpose of recovering the historical role lost by the North.”

In the constituent assembly of this group, held in San Juan de la Rambla, Tagoror Norte was demanded «transparency before the associates and the rest of the population; the demand for plans and comparative data from the different public administrations; the analysis of the electoral promises of the different parties and their execution status, and the periodic study of issues concerning the development of the territory through the information of technicians and experts».
