Santa Cruz de Tenerife experienced a record Full Moon last weekend. More than 300,000 people passed through the capital this weekend, in which, in addition to this event, it coincided with the celebration, also with total success, of the Santa Cruz Extreme, leaving an economic return of 9 million euros.
Plenilunio Santa Cruz has been more than 100 activities, in 13 different scenarios and 256 hours of dynamization in the streets that have demonstrated the capacity of the capital to become a great open-air leisure and commercial space.
The data on the use of public transport support these figures for visitors to the capital, since a total of 71,402 people used the tram on the Plenilunio weekend, 18% more than the previous weekend and 37% more than the same. weekend of 2021. Throughout the weekend, 142,723 private vehicles entered the city. 60% during the day on Saturday (84,000)
For both Saturday and Sunday, the city’s parking lots had much higher occupancy than any other weekend. The increase, from 40% to 226%, depending on the parking lot and the day.

The data is supported by the survey carried out by the Development Society for this type of event among visitors, specifically, with a sample of 802 attendees in which 40% of the attendees attended Plenilunio for the first time, and highlighted a number very important number of people who came from other municipalities outside the metropolitan area.
7.6% of the people surveyed were from outside Tenerife, and the average expenditure per person, according to the same survey, is 30 euros, mainly in restaurants, 60%, and another 40% in shops and other purchases. This data, with an estimate of visitors to the city of around 300,000 people, indicates that the economic return for the capital of this full moon was about 9 million euros.

Lastly, 86% of the 802 people asked gave the event a “5” or a “6”. This means, together with the last edition, reaching the highest possible ratings of the entire study series.
