The National Police has arrested a 48-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of three crimes of damage by setting fire to three vehicles in the San Andrés neighborhood, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the end of last month, one of them belonging to his sister-in-law.
Once the facts were known through the complaints filed by those affected and the data was corroborated in the same place of the event, where a completely burned vehicle and two others seriously affected were observed, the investigation was launched by the agents.
Thus, thanks to the presence of surveillance cameras from nearby premises and the testimonial statements of those affected, the author of the acts could be clearly identified and his arrest proceeded.
From the beginning, one of the victims, the owner of the most damaged vehicle, stated that she was suspicious of her brother-in-law, since a little over a year ago she had already burned the vehicle and they had also had a tortuous family relationship with several episodes for many years. and complaints of aggression, threats and damages by the detainee with respect to his entire family, even having restraining orders that he broke on numerous occasions.
The agents invited this woman to view the security cameras, fully identifying her brother-in-law in the recordings in which it was clearly observed how she approached the vehicle, threw something and moments later it burned.
His sentimental partner and brother of the detainee also identified the author, the Police said in a note.
Once the author, who had numerous police records, was identified, he was summoned to a police station and arrested for the events that occurred, and was brought before the competent judicial authority.
