The Valle de Guerra Livery, the popular auto sacramental that commemorates the Battle of Lepanto, returns on Saturday the 15th, starting at 9:00 p.m., recovering face-to-face attendance after the years of the pandemic.
The act, which in this edition celebrates 15 years of its declaration as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), was presented yesterday at a press conference by the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez; the president of the Valle de Guerra Friends of the Livery Association, Guillermo López Reyes, and the councilors responsible for the municipal areas that collaborate.
“The Valle de Guerra Livery is finally reunited in person with the public and does it as the occasion deserves, in all its splendor,” said the councilor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, who recalled that it is “a one of the most important popular theater shows in the Canary Islands”.
Guillermo López highlighted “the support and willingness of the City Council to help La Librea. Behind this work there is a lot of effort, but there must also be a logistical and economic compensation; therefore, I claim that the City Council of La Laguna in that sense is our greatest asset”. The president of Amigos de La Librea pointed out that Valle de Guerra “is a town that is small in size and large in cultural wealth, and this is one of our jewels.”
