The Teresitas Beach It is one of the best known and promoted for years in the Canary Islands. the beach, which it was extended in the 70s on another pre-existing one of black volcanic sand thanks to the new one brought from the Sahara desert, is the most famous and tourist of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, capital of the island itself. It is located in the town of San Andrés and is a little less than a kilometer and a half long.

The fact of being a beach built of artificially and not with native sand has always been a topic of conversation when comparisons arise with others from the Canary Islands such as Las Canteras.

Although the majority of reviews about this beach on Tripadvisor are positive, some users are not happy with this area. One of them is the user dof1989resident of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. “The worst beach in Tenerife”, is how he titles his review.

“It was the beach of my childhood because my parents didn’t go out to other places but over time I realized that Tenerife has many infinitely better beaches than this artificial aberration“, he complains about the lack of naturalness of the place.

“The sand is too sticky as a treasury wind rises”opines the user and acknowledges that “what annoys me the most is that with this beach they attract the attention of tourists and they relate it as the beach par excellence of Tenerife”.

In addition, he acknowledges that he is “very limited parking”, which can be positive in terms of the “tranquility” on the beach, especially “for children”.

The man from Tenerife wants to remember in his review that, in his opinion, “there are much better, natural beaches” and comments that the beaches “really in Tenerife are black sand”just like the beach where they built the current Las Teresitas.

Finally, he gives a list of beaches that he believes are better and more recommended for both tourists and Tenerife residents: “Las Gaviotas, Benijos, Almáciga, Punta Brava, San Marcos…”.
