From the municipal group of United, a motion has been registered for the plenary session of La Laguna on October 13 where it requests the dismissal of the bishop of Tenerife, Bernardo Alvarez“after its direct relationship, according to the testimony of the victims, with the cover-up of several cases of pederasty”, as announced by the group’s co-spokesperson and Councilor for Social Welfare, Rubens Ascanio.
In the agreements that will be submitted for the consideration of the Plenary, it is proposed to “urge the ecclesiastical hierarchy to dismiss Bernardo Álvarez, given the serious events that occurred in Tejina.”

It also urges that “responsibilities be clarified and measures be taken to compensate for the suffering of the victims and their families.”
In the third point, it is stated that the Plenary Assembly expresses its solidarity with the victims. And in the last one it is reiterated “our total rejection against any action that supposes the realization or cover-up of abuses”.
