Folk groups from La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote participate in the XIV Montaña de Gaida Festival

The XIV Montaña de Gaida Folkloric Festival Unidos por las Raíces will gather tomorrow, Saturday, October 8, 7 folk groups from Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma and Gran Canaria in a great night of party, timple, melodies and feeling to celebrate in the Southern Union Society of Tías.

The festival will begin around 7:30 p.m. with a fun parade from the church of San Antonio, on Avenida Central Alcalde Florencio Suárez to the Sociedad Unión Sur de Tías. At around 9:00 p.m., the performances of the XIV Montaña de Gaida Folk Festival Unidos por las Raíces will start with a considerable influx of fans of traditional Canarian music.

The folklore group Gaida (Lanzarote), Guarache (Tenerife), Alfaguara (La Palma), GF Los Cebolleros (Gran Canaria), GB Cabuqueros (Gran Canaria) and P.Lo Nuestro (Gran Canaria) will perform. The festival will close with the party There goes the Thing (Tenerife)which will liven up a lively dance in the hall of the Sociedad Unión Sur de Tías.

This festival is celebrated with the collaboration of the Town Council of Tías, the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote and the Canary Islands Government through Canarias Crea.
