Two arrested after colliding with another car and fleeing in Tenerife

Two young people have been arrested in Santa Cruz de Tenerife when they fled from a police patrol that stopped them last night when they carried out reckless maneuvers with a vehicle in which another man and a dog were traveling, as reported by the Local Police on Thursday.

The events took place on a street in the Santa Clara neighborhood.

The detainees are JGS, 31 years old, who was driving the vehicle and does not have a driving license, and JAGG, 25 years old, owner of the vehicle that collided with a wall and a tree, at which point they tried to flee on foot, while that the third occupant of the tourism, 55 years old, needed help from the firefighters to be released.

During the foot chase, some neighbors tried to avoid police action by throwing objects from their homes, even causing damage to a private vehicle that was parked on Antracita Street, police say.

The man who was trapped in the car was assisted by personnel from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) and it was also necessary to remove the dog from the car, a task carried out by local police officers.

The chase was carried out through the streets Emilia Pardo Bazán, Santa Mónica, América and Zafiro, to conclude in the pedestrian zone of Antracita Street, after those now arrested circulated in the opposite direction and breached “numerous” traffic regulations.
