CC-PNC in the Cabildo urges “compliance with the agreements to improve animal welfare in Tenerife.” The nationalist councilor Antolín Bueno recalls that last January a motion was approved to allow pets free access to public transport. In June the agreement was to create a Canine Beaches Plan and, at the initiative of Bueno himself, an extraordinary meeting of the Insular Council was convened that established the promise of having three annual appointments. “Nothing has been accomplished,” he sums up.
Antolín Bueno attended last Sunday the call made by animal groups to demand fair treatment for pets. The counselor points out that the new legislation “establishes the obligations of Public Administrations to facilitate the inspection and surveillance function in order to prevent situations of abuse.” He also “rationalize, homogenize and provide proportionality to the regime of infractions and sanctions in matters of animal protection.”
“These are important issues that affect us all and we are working to transfer them to the Cabildo,” concludes Antolín Bueno.
