Agents of the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife intervened a few days ago in a brawl in which a man came to wield a large machete-type knife.
The policemen managed to snatch said knife from him and reduce this 38-year-old man, who after an argument in a nearby bar had approached his own home to look for this weapon.
The individual was identified as ILS, being arrested for these events, in addition to insulting, threatening and trying to hit the agents.
This police patrol, belonging to the Group of Canine Guides of the Santacrucera Local Police, was carrying out surveillance work in the Ofra area when they were alerted by some minors about a brawl with knives.
Upon arriving at the scene, they observed two men struggling and one of them brandishing a large knife. The policemen acted immediately trying to separate these people, although both resisted; in fact, they even tried to get other patrons of the bar to oppose the police action.
When they finally managed to separate the men and reduce them, leaving ILS detained and also JMPC, 57, the police tried to clarify the facts to determine what had happened. According to the accounts of the witnesses and those involved, there had previously been a dispute between two men and ILS, who went up to his apartment, took the knife and returned to the scene.
At that time, these two people, who have not been identified at the moment, fled the scene. But it is JMPC who, seeing the knife, tries to get in the way and ends up struggling until the police patrol arrives.
All this was reported to the judicial authority, transferring the detainees to the police station.
