SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The City Council of Los Llanos de Aridane, through the Department of Municipal Services, and the Department of Waste of the Cabildo de La Palma continue to work on the collection of goods in the areas affected by the eruption of the volcano.
The Councilor for Municipal Services, José María Rivera, explained that this service began to be provided last January so that the residents of the exclusion zones could remove the belongings that have been damaged by the eruption.
The mayor pointed out that on some occasions these removals have suffered some delay “because we have had to prioritize, for health, cleanliness and safety, the removal of objects or substances such as car wheels, appliances, pruning and oil, which some neighbors irresponsibly have left on the street”.
Participating in this activity are seven workers from the Cabildo de La Palma and two companies from the municipality, contracted by the City Council itself, with eight workers and four trucks. To request it, residents should call 922 460 111, extension 203.
Lastly, the Los Llanos de Aridane City Council reminds citizens that leaving belongings on public roads carries a fine ranging from 300 to 3,000 euros.
