The Bono Comercio reaches 230 businesses on the Island to encourage local consumption

More than 230 businesses throughout the island – for now in 23 of the 31 municipalities – have already joined the new edition of the Bonos Comercio campaign to boost consumption in local businesses. Establishments that wish to participate in the initiative have until the 15th to register. The Cabildo will put bonds worth 600,000 euros on the market with the idea, in addition, of supporting families in Tenerife, at a time when inflation is seriously affecting their purchasing power. From the end of the month, citizens will be able to purchase products with this discount of approximately 50%.

The intention is to reactivate the sales of small and medium businesses of the entire Island, especially those of those municipalities in which there is no similar incentive.

The counselor of EmploymentSocioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, recalls that the establishments adhering to this campaign can offer discounts of up to 60 euros at no cost to the business.

“A unique opportunity that will allow them not only to win new customers, but also to retain the ones they already have, offering special discounts at zero cost”, values the counselor.

I will detail that 50% of the cost of the voucher will be paid by the consumer and the other half will be paid by the council with the store, within a maximum period of two weeks from the date of purchase.

Carmen Luz Baso also highlights the especially sensitive moment in which the idea is launched for the third time to “allow families from Tenerife to have extra support when inflation affects their purchasing power.”

So far, businesses from 23 municipalities on the island have joined the initiative. To participate, all they have to do is go to the bonotenerife.es website. and fill in the registration form. In order to facilitate it, as well as all the necessary procedures, the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), responsible for managing the campaign, has set up a telephone service, at number 922 100 008, with the following hours: from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. In addition, queries about the program can be made via email. Likewise, businesses that have already participated in other editions of the promotion will be able to take advantage of this new campaign by carrying out only a small procedure.

Citizens will be able to start redeeming the bonds as of October 31. Specifically, users will be able to choose between three types of tickets for amounts of 10, 30 and 60 euros, respectively, to make purchases at any of the businesses that have joined.
