SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The CC-PNC group of the Cabildo de Tenerife has demanded the implementation of a Plan for the Elderly in Tenerife to give continuity to the ANSINA intervention and revitalization program.
The nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, has affirmed that the elimination of ANSINA is “ground zero of the project to destroy the PSOE that Pedro Martín has carried out over the years.” “Instead of moving towards a better island, they have gone backwards, destroying ANSINA, a pioneering national program that reached thousands of older people in Tenerife,” he added.
“They closed ANSINA in June 2020 without having an alternative and fired the workers for sectarianism. Pedro Martín and Marian Franquet abandoned the elders and deceived them by saying that there would be a specific Plan from the Cabildo. The objective facts are incontestable: we are in October of 2022 and there is no Plan for the Elderly,” insisted Alonso.
The CC-PNC spokesman described Pedro Martín’s management in the social area as “disastrous”, since “he has not created any new social and health positions in three years”. In this sense, the Treasury report as of August 31 indicates that of the 21 million euros allocated to investments in the Social Action area for 2022, only 621,000 euros have been executed.
“The execution of investments does not reach 3% so far this year. It is intolerable because there are more than 7,000 people waiting for a social health place. There is money, but there is no management. That happens because the PSOE has been busier in destroy the above than to work for the people of Tenerife”, criticized Alonso.
Carlos Alonso recalled that in the last two years “the PSOE has failed to execute 340 million euros of the budget.” “Tenerife has been falling behind in the execution of island projects. We need a change now and that the Cabildo once again be the economic engine of the Island to meet the demands of citizens,” he added.
