SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 4 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende, has highlighted the potential of the fruit and vegetable companies of the Canary Islands and their export muscle, “with unique products that differentiate us for their quality in the national and international market” .
This was stated today, Tuesday, during the inauguration of the Canary Islands stand at the Fruit Attraction international fair that is being held these days at the Ifema pavilion in Madrid.
Alicia Vanoostende highlighted that this event “represents a first-rate platform for the fruit and vegetable operators of the archipelago to establish commercial relationships and open up market opportunities, given that the external projection of our companies is a strategic issue.”
The minister inaugurated the stand of the Canary Islands and also that of Asprocan, accompanied, among other authorities, by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, who was able to recognize the high quality of the fruit and vegetable products of the Canary Islands.
Vanoostende made a special mention of the work of ICCA and Proexca, companies attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, respectively, for facilitating the presence of companies from the islands at this event, since Both organizations have assumed most of the expenses related to this action, such as the design, assembly of the stand and catering for exhibitors exclusively, in addition to the use of the land.
Thus, the companies and administrations present at the Canary Islands stand are the following: On behalf of the Cabildo de Tenerife, the companies Cultesa, Asguacán, AgroRincón, Savasa Agrícola, La Fast; the Cabildo de La Palma, with Pitapalma, Cooperativa Proteas La Palma and Ecofinca Nogales; FEDEX, with its associated companies; Red Mountain; SAT Tejinaste – Sweet Papaya; Avocados from Tenerife (Alisios Tropical Fruits); Creative Vending; and the ICIA, which will have a space at the stand to present a research project on FRUTTMAC fruit trees.
The councilor highlighted the efforts made by companies in the sector who see their work rewarded in such an interesting exhibition framework with international repercussions such as Fruit Attraction.
The Minister of Agriculture recalled that Fruit Attraction has become the essential commercial tool for worldwide distribution with a view to planning its campaigns for the following year, “because it is held in the month of October; a key commercial moment for supply and professional demand for fresh products; and because of its geographical location in southern Europe, which strategically positions the fair as the gateway to Europe from Latin America”.
