La Morra restaurant reissues its first prize in the second edition of the Ruta de la Tapa de la Papa de La Esperanza, which took place between July 29 and August 7 on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Hope. The awards ceremony took place yesterday morning in an act held at the House of Culture and chaired by the mayor of the municipality, Escolástico Gil, and which was attended by the Councilor for Local Development, Yeray Gutiérrez, and the president of the Association of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs of El Rosario (Apymeer), Ivana del Río.
The gastronomic proposal of La Morra was followed by Tasca El Jeito with the Papa de Plata; Guachinche El Lángara, with the Bronze Potato; and Guachinche El Escondite de Ángeles, which achieved a second prize after the recount of the jury’s assessment and the popular vote.
The representatives of the establishments received their accrediting plates as members of the gastronomic route, after the counting of the votes carried out, this year, through a QR code and the evaluation of the jury. The prizes were donated by Apymeer and Bodegas Marba, sponsor of the route, together with the La Campana service station and various SMEs in the municipality.
Likewise, prizes were also awarded to several of the participants on the route who were awarded in the draw held for this purpose, as well as to the farmer Antonio González, supplier of the Esperance potatoes, the main raw material for the preparation of the tapas. The participating establishments in this second edition were La Isla guachinche, La Sardinera restaurant, Casa Lola modern guachinche, Da’Stefano Ranch, Casa Berta restaurant, El Escondite de Ángeles restaurant, El Lángara guachinche, Las Rosas restaurant, La Morra restaurant and El Tasca. Jeito. Vueltita de Tuerca, all in the surroundings of the Villa and the La Esperanza-Llano del Moro highway.
Escolástico Gil, in his commitment to the restaurant and gastronomy sector, attended the seventh Canarian Gastronomic Hall, which was held until Thursday at the Tenerife Fairgrounds, to show the institutional support of the Consistory to the companies based in El Rosario present at this important exhibition of gastronomy and the food and hospitality sector of the Canary Islands.
The mayor, accompanied by the vice president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Román Rodríguez, and by the former president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Carlos Alonso, among other authorities, visited the stalls of the Montesano and Egatesa meat companies, the El Gusto wine cellar for the Wine, the 5 Oceanos Canarias chain, Comercial Adom and Grumesa Canarias horeca, a company specializing in equipment and clothing for the hotel industry, and all of them present at this Gastronomic Hall.
