The Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has confirmed the sentence of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in which a man is sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.
In addition to the prison sentence, the TSJC has prohibited him from contacting the minor or approaching her for a period of ten years. Likewise, he is sentenced to probation for five years. In addition, she must pay the costs derived from the procedure.
The events date back to April 2019, when the victim, who was 13 years old at the time, was sexually assaulted by the defendant after going to his house under the pretext of taking a sweater that he had left days before, since they were friends. .
The Court of Instruction No. 1 of San Cristóbal de La Laguna initiated a complaint process against the aggressor and transferred the case to the Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which considered the aforementioned facts to be proven, for which it sentenced him to eight years in prison.
