Since yesterday, the Local Police of Granadilla de Abona has seven more officers, which brings the workforce to 61 officers. These incorporations take place once the training period has been completed through the General Directorate of Security. The mayor, José Domingo Regalado, emphasized that when he joined the municipal government, in September 2016, “there were 46 police officers,” which represents a 32% increase in human resources. In addition, he influenced the investment made in material resources.
The agents who took possession of the position yesterday agreed to their places through an opposition contest. The local government reminds that the provision of eight more places of the Local Police is called. Last Tuesday, the deadline for the submission of applications by aspiring municipal agents was opened, also through an opposition procedure, with a free access shift.
