SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Area of Sustainable Development and Fight against Climate Change, has designed a conference on legal tools for the Custody of the Territory that will be held on October 4 and 5, from 08:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Multipurpose room on the ground floor of the Blue Tower, in the Santiago Martín Sports Pavilion (La Laguna).
The conference will analyze various legal formulas applicable to the development of Custody of the Territory projects, a form of management that seeks to facilitate collective and participatory initiatives for the conservation of nature, landscape and cultural heritage in both public and private spaces.
“These conferences will have an extensive program that aims to delve into the legal frameworks available to promote this form of management and share various applied, state and Canarian experiences,” said the island councilor for Sustainable Development and the Fight Against Climate Change, Javier Rodríguez .
The Custody of the Territory, which promotes agreements and mechanisms for continuous collaboration between custody entities, owners and other public and private entities, has been progressively implemented in Tenerife over the last decade, “so it is especially necessary promote training initiatives of a specific nature such as this one, the development of which will favor the progressive promotion of this set of conservation strategies and instruments”, indicated the Minister.
The conferences are aimed at the technical, legal and economic staff of public administrations, especially local ones. It is key that the municipal secretariats and interventions participate in them since they are essential responsible for the articulation of the agreements for these initiatives, which guarantee their viability.
The administrations, by being able to play various roles as owners of the territory, custody entities or technical support, have a fundamental role in promoting or participating in the different legal agreements that can be established for custody. The sessions are also aimed at those responsible for voluntary, custodial, social entities, university students and other people with an interest.
