Sí Podemos has reported in a statement that it will present a motion in plenary session of the Cabildo de Tenerife this Friday for the corporation to study the possibility of criminally denouncing the destruction and damage caused to an irrecoverable archaeological site during the works of the project.
The political group affirms that “regardless of the sanctioning procedures that are already in process, it is necessary to study the legal consequences, from the criminal point of view, that some of the events that have been taking place under the execution of the works themselves entail” .
All of this, he adds, asserting the strongest protection mechanism with values that are so important for the quality of life in society, such as land use planning and urban planning, the protection of historical heritage and the environment.
With this motion, Sí Podemos Canarias demands that a report be requested from the Legal Department of the corporation about the criminal liability that the perpetrators of these events may incur and that have been occurring during the course of the works for the execution of the Project.
According to Sí Podemos, these works continue to be carried out through the use of heavy machinery to level large areas of land without archaeological supervision of any kind, while earthworks are also carried out without the supervision of an expert in the field.
Another of the agreements proposed by the insular group is that the Cabildo de Tenerife shows its condemnation and institutional rejection of all kinds of violent attitudes, in relation to the attacks suffered by the activists who are camped in Puertito de Adeje and who are “Risking their physical integrity in selfless and supportive defense of a common good.”
Andrés Muñoz and an alleged scam in Metropolitano de Tenerife
Sí Podemos Canarias declares that “these violent acts are unfortunately carried out by people from Tenerife, driven by the need to keep a salary at the end of the month, and they only express the contempt of business interests towards this land, its values and its people”.
On the other hand, Sí Podemos Canarias demands that the government team purge the pertinent legal responsibilities regarding the figure of Andrés Muñoz, former manager of the public company Metropolitano de Tenerife SA, after, according to this group, he hid a scam for a year of 97,526.50 euros suffered by said company of the Cabildo. Muñoz is currently the director of the Cuna del Alma project and was reported to the Civil Guard for aggression by one of the activists this Monday.
The group will ask the island government about the reasons why “the presidency of Metropolitano has not yet inquired about the legal consequences of the fact that the former manager of this company hid the aforementioned scam from the Board of Directors and the Cabildo itself. ”.
Sí Podemos Canarias denounces that now “Andrés Muñoz, CC’s trusted man for years, directs the destructive Cuna del Alma project in Puertito de Adeje, using violent methods with which he has attacked and threatened the activists camped in the area that They are demanding compliance with the law.”
