Canary Islands reaches 170 confirmed cases of monkey pox since the start of the health alert. The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands records a new case of monkeypox since Friday.
Of the total cases registered in the Archipelago, 98 were detected in Gran Canaria65 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.
All active cases are having mild symptomatology and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up by Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in Canary Islands from the beginning of the alert and until today they are as follows:
- 170 confirmed cases98 in Gran Canaria, 65 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.
- a likely casepending confirmation, notified in Tenerife.
- a suspicious casepending confirmation, notified in Tenerife.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in this case it is considered a suspected case.
