Agents from the Tax and Border Section of Tenerife North Airport have arrested a 46-year-old man from Los Realejos accused of theft. He is accused of carelessly stealing almost 5,000 meters of copper cable and various tools.
The Civil Guard was made aware as a result of the complaint filed by the company that carries out work in the restricted area of the Airport, since they had detected that material was missing from the work, such as copper cables, motors, etc.
The agents began the investigation and after carrying out the different investigations and obtaining sufficient indications and evidence, they proceeded to arrest the accused.
On several occasions he himself had sold merchandise in various metal recoveries on the island. He had been stealing material since May, taking advantage of his autonomy and confidence to access with his company vehicle, duly accredited at night, which is when the work was carried out and when he left he carried the stolen merchandise.
The detainee, together with the proceedings instructed, has been placed at the disposition of the Court of Instruction of the Guard of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
