The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the area of Management of the Natural Environment and Safety, has proceeded to closure of three tracks and two trails in the perimeter of the fire declared on July 21 in Los Realejosonce the forecast start of restoration work in the area and for the safety of the people who may pass through them.
“The area affected by the forest fire has locations that compromise the safety of people; that is why the Government Council of the Cabildo has approved the declaration of urgency for environmental recovery work, and for this the Island Institution, together with the Government of the Canary Islands and that of Spain will imminently dedicate more than one and a half million euros to this restoration”, indicated the Minister of Natural Environment Management, Isabel García, who indicated that “meanwhile these works begin and for safety We have proceeded to intervene in the closure of some sections of tracks and trails in the area”.
In this way, The runway from La Piedra de Los Pastores to the TF-21 road has been closed, as well as its accesses from the Picachos intersection through Fuente de Mesa and from the Fuente Los Corchos runway. It is also not possible to travel along the Viera y Clavijo track from the start of it at the Los Realejos firewall to the intersection with the Almagre and Cabezón track; nor along the Caño Chingue track from Pino Llorón to the outer limit of the Chanajiga recreational area.
As for the trails, the PR TF-40 is cut in those sections that go along the track from Chanajiga to Pino Llorón or above said track and the PR TF 40.1 in its entirety. In the case of 0-4-0, its use is authorized until the fire restoration work begins.
