The Mobility and Roads area of the Cabildo de Tenerife has reported this morning on Twitter that it has proceeded to close the traffic of the access to Puerto de la Cruz via the TF-31 roadfrom kilometer point 2,500 to 4,250, “due to the drop in water at the exit of the cut-and-cover tunnel.”
The balance of incidents caused by heavy rains in the last few hours it has risen to more than a hundred, according to data provided this Sunday by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Specifically in Puerto de la Cruz, as has happened in La Orotava, the metropolitan area and several municipalities in the South, most of the incidents have been related to rockfalls and falling trees.
Throughout the night, the operators of the Highway Conservation Service have worked on the small landslides that have been registered on the Anaga roads and in some of them the cleaning and securing work continues so that this fall of loose rocks affects as little as possible to traffic.
In the southern area a small landslide has been recorded on the TF-21 in Vilaflor and on the Las Galletas road there is a puddle due to overflow. In both cases there are Conservation crews attending to them.
