La Laguna celebrates this Tuesday, coinciding with World Tourism Day, the Canarias Viva campaign and its EROS project. It is an initiative developed by the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca), with the collaboration of La Laguna Commercial Zone and the City Council, and financed by the Government Tourism Department, whose main objective is the reactivation of the leisure sector and restoration in the municipality in the face of the difficult economic situation brought about by the pandemic and other events such as the war in Ukraine.
The EROS project of the Canarias Viva campaign will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Plaza Doctor Olivera area, which will be enlivened with two stalls with master ham makers and cocktail makers. In this way, the people who decide to participate will be able to buy, in the establishments that are part of the initiative, some tickets at a single price of 5 euros, which they can exchange for an Iberian ham cone or a cocktail in the two stands that will be placed in the zone.
The premises that have joined this activity are the Benidorm cafeteria, Está Rico Burguer, Mojos y Mojitos Café, Al Gusto, Daiko Sushi Bar, Dacanio Pizzeria, Rincón Lagunero and Venecia cafeteria.
Culture will also be present in this day of reactivation of leisure and restoration. In this case, the Canarias Viva initiative will combine classical music with electronic music and will feature the participation of the violinist Ana Obando, the saxophonist Celso Sax and the DJ Fabrizzio Salgado.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, recalled that “gastronomy is also part of the heritage of our city, and we are fortunate to have a high-level restaurant sector that complements and enriches the tourist offer that La Laguna offers ”.
