Aena has accounted for a total of 215 flights canceled so far from Sunday to Canary Islands because of the rains arising from tropical depression ‘Hermine’in addition to 25 diversions, according to the fourth update of the day from the airport manager at 3:45 p.m.
Nevertheless, all eight airports in the archipelago are operational although passengers are recommended to check with their airline in case of possible delays or cancellations.
In this sense, those controlled have reported thate Eurocontrol activated the zero ‘Rate’ early in the afternoon for Gran Canaria Y Tenerife because of the rain and the visibilitywhich means that no flight can take off for these two islands until it is deactivated.
By islands, this Sunday the Tenerife North Airport-City of La Laguna has registered 95 cancellations and seven diversions.
In addition, the airport area of The Palm has had 41 cancellations, the Airport of The iron 20, the one of Lanzarote 20 and that of La Gomera four.
Meanwhile, the airport Gran Canaria has recorded 35 cancellations and 18 diversions.
Finally, Aena has recalled that during yesterday, Saturday, the first day under the effects of ‘Hermine’, in the Canary Islands there were 79 canceled flights and the diversion of another 30.
