A night route with homage to the fishermen
The old Ere del Hermano Pedro, a natural space of great ethnographic value linked to the figure of the first saint of the Canary Islands, was converted again on Saturday night into a large open-air amphitheater to offer a unique show with photography, theater, storytelling and music. The XVII edition of the night route, organized by the Department of Culture, was attended by more than half a thousand people. The most emotional act was the tribute to the fishermen. The mayor, José Domingo Regalado, presented the plaques on behalf of all the seafarers of the Granada coast, for their work over many years, to Manuel Díaz Casanova Lito, a fisherman from El Médano; Manuel Díaz Marcelino, fisherman from Los Abrigos; the fisherwoman María del Carmen Amaral Díaz (Elena) and the last carpenter from Rivera, Antonio Celso Marcelino Fariña. The Festival Commission of El Médano was also mentioned, since this act opens the program of the festivals of this nucleus, as well as Juan Agustín Pérez (Tingo) for his collaboration, and the Mountain Association for All.
