SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A total of thirteen jewellery, fashion and footwear firms integrated into the Tenerife Moda brand are participating this week, together with the Cabildo de Tenerife, in the Momad 2022 and Bisutex international fairs, which are taking place almost simultaneously at the Tenerife Fairgrounds. Madrid (Ifema).
The island councilor for Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, who attended the inauguration of both exhibitions yesterday, Friday, highlighted “the opportunity that this multiple call represents to generate synergies and establish new contacts that help promote and make visible the island talent.
Baso also referred to the boost that the Cabildo is giving to the Tenerife Moda brand, whose budget in 2022 has grown by 58% compared to the previous year, reaching 150,000 euros.
“We have a fledgling textile and accessories industry that has gone through hard times to stay afloat during the pandemic and that we are now helping not only to find new partners and markets in its expansion policies but also to reconvert its business to adapt it to market preferences and apply new sustainability criteria,” he said.
With these words, the minister referred to the call for aid for the conversion of industry and crafts in Tenerife that the Island Corporation has published for the first time this year and for which a budget of 475,000 euros has been allocated.
In total, more than 500 companies from twenty countries, both in Europe and Asia, America and Australia, meet until Sunday, September 18, at the Momad and Bisutex shows, of which two calls are organized each year and that are intended for both professionals and the general public.
The representation of Tenerife Moda is made up of seven costume jewelery and jewelery firms; two of ready-to-wear clothes; 2 footwear and leather goods; one for bridal fashion and one for handicrafts dedicated to accessories. Each of them will have a stand of 16 square meters.
