SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, will present this Monday at a press conference the premiere of the adventure reality show ‘Discovering Canary Islands’ at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

In the meeting with the specialized press that attends this international film event every year, Castilla will be accompanied by the program’s presenter, Pilar Rubio, and the heads of Rakuten TV, Atlantia Media and Initiative/Mediabrands Content Studio, co-producers of this space .

It will be the first time that the San Sebastian International Festival, which celebrates its 70th edition this year, hosts the premiere of an adventure reality show. The premiere gala to be held at night is promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias, and La Palma will play a special role in it, since Monday will be exactly one year since the volcano erupted.

With ‘Discovering Canary Islands’, Tourism of the Canary Islands takes an important step in its strategy of promoting the destination under newer and more notorious formulas. The program will be part of the original content of Rakuten TV from next October 13, which will allow it to reach more than 110 million homes in 42 countries in Europe.

Hosted by the well-known presenter Pilar Rubio, the adventure reality show will explore the most incredible and surprising myths of the Canary Islands and its eight contestants, influencers from eight European countries, will learn more about local culture and traditions during six episodes full of evidence and enigmas that will show the charms of the region to its viewers.

The profiles of the participants who will compete to be the best explorer in Europe are already known:

Nathan Nuyts, 23 years old and representing France, is a former first division footballer. He has been dedicated to professional football since he was 12 years old, although a little over a year ago he hung up his football boots to dedicate himself 100% to his career as a model and influencer where he has 400k followers.

Tom Belz, 34 years old and born in Germany, is an example of overcoming. He lost a leg due to bone cancer when he was only 8 years old, but this has made him a fighter who knows no limits. He has climbed Kilimanjaro and never stops setting himself new challenges.

Evan Edinger, 31 years old. This North American based in the United Kingdom is a born leader. Evan is dedicated to social media and has a YouTube channel where he recounts his travels with over 700k followers.
