The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, yesterday asked the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, for the unification of the judicial districts of La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz. It was during a work meeting in which different issues were addressed to improve the judicial care services provided on the Island. The second vice president of the Cabildo, Berta Pérez, and the sub-delegate of the Government in the Canary Islands, Jesús Xavier Silver.
Pedro Martín highlighted the “fruitfulness” of this meeting, in which “we have transferred several of the issues that we, from the insular Government, consider to be priorities to achieve greater agility and operability in judicial activity, and continue improving care for the population” .
The proposal to unify the judicial districts of La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz seeks “greater efficiency for the benefit of the northern region of Tenerife.” Currently, the Ministry of Justice is processing the draft Law on Organizational Efficiency. “We have taken advantage of this context to transfer this request. This is one of the most interesting modifications for Tenerife”, said Martín. He also stated that “we have conveyed to him the need to have new judicial offices in the capital of Tenerife.”
