The Ministry of Health reported this Friday that Since Tuesday, no new cases have been detected. monkey pox in the Canary Islands, where there are 166 positives and two suspects since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert.
Of the total cases registered in the Canary archipelago in Gran Canaria 96 have been detected, in Tenerife 63, in Fuerteventura four, in Lanzarote three and in La Palma one.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows:
– 166 confirmed cases, 96 in Gran Canaria, 63 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.
– Two suspected cases, pending confirmation, one reported in Tenerife and one in Gran Canaria.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
