SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16 Sep. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, announced this Friday the beginning of a campaign with which bonds for a total value of 600,000 euros will be put on the market, of which the Cabildo will contribute half, to encourage sales of small and medium businesses throughout the island.

The deadline for businesses to adhere to this initiative will be in force until October 14.

Pedro Martín points out in a note that with this third campaign, in which the budget has been doubled with respect to the previous edition, it is also intended to “offer help to the families of Tenerife, at a time when inflation is affecting their pockets and their purchasing power”.

The president details that this is one more of the measures that they are implementing to collaborate with family economies and that it is added, for example, to the 50 percent discount on public transport that was launched on September 1.

RECOVERY OF ACTIVITY

It adds that the new bonds, which citizens will be able to start redeeming from October 31, will mean a rebound in the activity of small and medium-sized businesses throughout the island, especially that of those municipalities in which there is no similar incentive .

“Our priority is to give the same opportunities to all retail businesses in Tenerife and for this this initiative is aimed at those establishments that do not participate in any other discount campaign promoted by another public administration,” said the president.

For her part, the Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, highlights the good reception that this initiative has had in the last edition and recalls that the campaign has been designed in accordance with the proposals put forward by the merchants themselves who participated in the first edition launched in January this year.

“This is an opportunity for all businesses, which will be able to offer consumers discounts of up to 60 euros for their purchases, without losing money,” he said.

Specifically, the campaign that is managed by the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), includes three types of bonuses, for amounts of 10, 30 and 60 euros, of which 50% will be paid the consumer and the other half will be paid by the Cabildo, which will make the payment to the businesses within a maximum period of two weeks, from the date of purchase.

Businesses that want to benefit from this initiative can request, until October 14, their adherence to the program through a form enabled on the bonotenerife.es website.

Companies that have already participated in the previous edition of ‘Bono Tenerife’ will be able to benefit from this new campaign, carrying out a small procedure.

In order to facilitate the registration and the necessary procedures, a telephone service has also been made available, at the number 922 100 008, with the following hours: from 09:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Friday, as well as from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. on weekends.

GOOD RECEPTION

The last edition of the program, which took place between May 16 and June 30 of this year, generated sales for an amount of 388,000 euros in small businesses dedicated to commerce, hospitality and other services, such as hairdressers or gyms.

Seven out of 10 affiliated establishments perceived an increase in sales and new consumers thanks to the Tenerife Consumer Bonus.

In addition, more than 62% of businesses give the program the highest rating, while 15.7% rate it four out of five.

The main demand of the establishments, given the success of the program, was to increase the budget for future editions of the program, something that has been taken into account for the new call.
