Children of the 80’s returns to the south of Tenerife this Friday with a new artistic installment that recreates the best of music from the 80’s and 90’s. This coming September 16, the Hard Rock Hotel in Adeje will host the presentation Isla de Hija de la Luna, the best tribute to Mecano, a legendary group on the Spanish scene of decades past.
The event will start at 7:30 p.m. and will also feature performances by Dream 3 Team and La Movida. Tickets can be purchased through the website http://www.childrenofthe80s.com/.
Almost 30 years have passed since Mecano presented his last tour ‘Aidalai Tour’, and two generations later, his music is still very present among the general public. To commemorate the 25th anniversary, in 2016 Hija de la luna was born, a tribute project to the most important pop group in Spanish and which now presents ‘Descanso Dominical’, in a concert that offers the public a cloned reproduction that surpasses the tribute, becoming in a whole musical show.
The physical and vocal resemblance between Robin Torres and Ana Torroja is undoubtedly the key to the success of this Sevillian group and what sets the band apart from any other tribute. Robin, who participated in the 2015 edition of the Tele5 program, La Voz, was praised for her acting ability by Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Malú and Antonio Orozco. The national press also echoed that differentiating point of the artist in the interpretive, and in Daughter of the Moon she more than demonstrates it.
Between 2016 and 2022, they have already performed more than 250 concerts throughout the Spanish and Latin American geography, hanging the ‘No tickets’ sign on more than 180 occasions and becoming one of the reference shows on the music scene.
In its first show, the band represents the songs of the AiDalai Tour, rescuing other great successes of Mecano. The songs are performed respecting the costumes, scenery, arrangements, formation and instruments to perfection, to the point that they present the same brand and model of the instruments that the band led by the Cano brothers used in their day.
