This work began in August 2019 with a budget of 1,110,000 euros. After a few weeks of work, which focused on clearing the plot, the work was halted due to the instability of a nearby wall. The project had to be modified to reinforce that risk area and the entire procedure had to be restarted, after the resignation of the original winning company. These procedures, the arrival of the pandemic and the works to secure the slopes of the site, complicated the objective of restarting the work.
This office is an old target of the Municipality of La Orotavawhich years ago made available to the Canary Islands Health Service a plot of land in Colombo urbanization. At that time, the construction of a new building was scheduled within the 2005-2010 Infrastructure Plan, but it was never executed due to lack of budget. In 2018, the action was resumed with the contracting of the drafting of the execution project update, which included the care needs according to the functional plan of the General Directorate of Assistance Programs of the SCS. The work began on August 21, 2019 and its completion date was scheduled for August 19, 2020. At that time, only the partial clearing of the land and the fencing of the plot were carried out.
