Adán García, councilor of Ciudadanos in Granadilla de Abona, demands that the municipal government take urgent measures against the mosquito plague that has affected the La Mareta urbanization for several weeks. The mayor regrets “the passivity” of the local Executive “in the face of a problem so severe that it is affecting the neighbors and that puts at risk the well-being and health of the population that resides in this coastal nucleus.” He affirms that “numerous neighbors” have gone to the ER due to the effects of the bites suffered.
He assures that the municipal government is aware of the problem by those affected, who “have not received any response.” The population “cannot open the windows or leave their houses.” The mayor warns that “probably, this plague of mosquitoes has its origin in the stagnant water in the ponds in the area, but they can add other factors that must be studied by the City Council.”
The councilor urges the municipal government to “take action on the matter and put a solution.”
