SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, assessed this Monday the “stability” of the Government made up of PSOE, NC-bc, Sí Podemos and ASG and guaranteed that the current Legislature will run out.

In response to a question from ASG in the control session, he said that “it will be the second time” that a coalition government ends a legislature, so he understands that the four parties must focus on “finishing the job” to leave “a Canaria better” than the one they received four years ago.

Thus, after a “complicated stage” of three years, he has indicated that now the government’s action has to focus basically on carrying out next year’s budgets, the citizen income law and the climate change law and at a time of ” lots of problems” stemming from inflation and the high costs of energy and raw materials.

Casimiro Curbelo, spokesman for ASG, has admitted the “difficulties in governing” in times of “economic and inflationary crisis that it is not known how it will end or when”, for which he has agreed with the president on the three strategic laws to approve before of May.

He has even added another linked to the revision of the taxation of the green islands, because if it is not done, “its economy will die due to inflation”.

He pointed out that “it is not easy” to recover the economy because there have already been two rises in interest rates and governments have to prepare to maintain essential services, combat poverty, promote R&D&i and digitization, fight against climate change and plan the Canary Islands with a “regional vision”.
