He regrets that in the ‘Pacto de las Flores’ “there is no clear direction” but four “watertight compartments” that obey their parties
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 10 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The secretary general of the Canarian Coalition (CC), Fernando Clavijo, is already preparing next year’s regional elections from the “strength” of an independent and purely Canarian political organization.
“We are neither on the left nor on the right, we are Canarians above any acronym,” he summarizes in an interview with Europa Press on the occasion of the opening of the political course in which he makes it clear that CC is a “clear option” for citizens who do not want public institutions “submissive to Madrid”.
Clavijo, who will be named candidate for the Presidency on September 30 -he has more than 95% of the endorsements-, affirms that they are “used to the waves”, whether from the PSOE or the PP, “which improve regardless of what they do” on the islands, so they don’t look “to the sides but to the Canary Islands”.
He assures that his party is endorsed by his “extensive management experience” and that all the proposals are worked out and do not respond to “demagoguery or political opportunism” and, as in the 2019 elections, he maintains as ‘red lines’ to reach pacts with VOX and Podemos.
“Both Vox and Podemos are the same, we would like to be able to govern alone but we do not share their way of doing politics or their ways as a party, or any of their visions for the Canary Islands”, he points out, while doubting that although the formation of Abascal will enter the regional Chamber will not be decisive in the formation of governance agreements.
Regarding the ‘Pacto de las Flores’ that directs the archipelago, he regrets that there is no “clear direction” within the Executive, which works with “four watertight compartments” that obey the “instructions” of their parties.
IN THE CANARY PSOE THEY ARE “PARALISED”
For example, it details that NC-bc “keeps the accounts” of the autonomous community “and does not present the accounts of its party”, which is why it was excluded from the party registry and had to change its name and the PSOE “is only waiting for instructions from Madrid”. “They are paralyzed, waiting for what Moncloa or Pedro Sánchez tell them to do,” he says.
As for Podemos, he maintains that “the general secretary says one thing and the government does another” while for ASG “his world and his universe ends in La Gomera”.
In his opinion, “in a very complex moment in this land we have not had a clear direction and that shows, in the management and in the citizens, it is a pity, and it will not be because CC has not extended a hand from the first minute to find measures with a large majority in which we can all contribute.
It does not even endorse the apparent improvement in the dependency figures since they respond to a “makeup” to save the Legislature as they grant the “minimum aid” without analyzing the conditions and needs of the dependents.
“They tell the families either this or nothing, but they don’t give resources to serve with dignity,” he says, emphasizing that they don’t comply with the public squares to build either, and that a social and health infrastructure plan was left “signed.”
Clavijo acknowledges that “there will never be a zero waiting list” in dependence, as is the case in health, but there are autonomous communities where it has been resolved, which is why he also urges the search for other formats such as home help or regular help that relatives can take care of.
WAITING FOR WHAT THE PNC DECIDES
Questioned about relations with the PNC, he admits that the political coalition agreement expires in May and the formation led by regional deputy Juan Manuel García Ramos has changed all its bodies and is in the internal debate phase to see “what path they want to take.”
Clavijo indicates that the relationships “are exquisite” but they are waiting for his decision.
Facing the regional Chamber, he points out that the electoral lists will not begin to be drawn up until January and there he has the name of the national deputy Ana Oramas written in red because it would be “a luxury” for her to incorporate all her “experience” into Canarian politics. .
“She has been a resoundingly successful mayor, with an extensive political life, capacity, efficiency and the only Canarian voice in Madrid to claim the rights of Canarians, she is a fundamental piece in Congress but if we could count on her it would be a luxury” , he points out.
However, she points out that “she has to decide” and wait to see what she wants to do personally.
