The councils of Education and Works and Services of Adeje undertakes the reform and maintenance work in the schools and institutes of the municipality, with an investment of more than 100,000 euros, to which 50,000 are added throughout the course for smaller works. This year the City Council took into account pedestrian mobility in the projection of the works, creating safe spaces that allow the educational community to access the center on foot.
According to the Councilor for Education, María Clavijo Maza, “we want to promote pedestrian mobility, exercise and healthy habits.” The works in the Infant and Primary Centers (CEIP) of Los Olivos and Adeje are finished and in the coming months works will be carried out for mobility in Armeñime. The school environment of other centers in the municipality that will be developed in the coming months is pending.
Esther Rivero, Councilor for Works and Services, values how “A priority is to keep infrastructures in the best conditions to promote healthy conditions in schools”. The investment of this City Council in reforms and improvements of schools increases every year, “even on many occasions they go beyond the powers of this administration, but for this government team it is essential to meet the needs of the centers.”
In addition to these works in summer, the City Council, through agreements and its own staff, undertook maintenance work. The jobs included in this action are masonry and painting, gardening, plumbing, locksmithing and aluminium. These are actions that include, for example, interior and exterior painting or small reforms that include issues such as changing taps, adjusting doors and windows, repairing damage to walls, checking lighting, etc.
Some of the works were put out to tender because they require a project and a specialized execution that the Consistory cannot carry out.
