About to finish the works, the first vice president and councilor for Roads, Mobility, Innovation and Culture of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Enrique Arriaga Álvarez, and the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, made a visit on foot yesterday morning of work of the new theater of the municipality.

This new space includes, in addition to the main theater with a capacity for 500 people, a complementary room for 110 people for various uses, rehearsals, conferences, etc. In a complementary way, dressing rooms, toilets, warehouses and support rooms have been provided; the hall will also act as an exhibition hall.

Arriaga highlighted “the new Auditorium of Adeje is a priority infrastructure for the Cabildo that will allow it to carry out the objective of bringing first-class cultural shows to the population without having to travel to large metropolitan areas to enjoy one of them.”

It is about, he insists, “democratizing culture”, adding that “the Cabildo will invest close to five million in this building that will respond to the growing demand to enjoy a first-class cultural agenda and become one more tourist attraction for the municipality”.

For his part, the mayor of Adeje assured that “it is a long-awaited and necessary work in our municipality. Our new theater will not only be an infrastructure of the first technical and artistic level that will be prepared to host all kinds of productions, performances or musical shows, but it will also complete and form part of our project to reactivate all the socioeconomic activity in the center of Adeje. We are convinced that the theater will play a fundamental role in everything that the Calle Grande and its surroundings of the Plaza de España, the Casa Fuerte or the Barranco del Infierno mean. It will also be a meeting place for all the residents of the municipality, wherever they live, because they will be able to enjoy an offer of leisure and culture that is up to the task”.

One of the singularities of the new Adeje theater is its stage box, unique in the South of Tenerife. An equipment that will allow to offer all kinds of shows with great sets of theater, dance, musicals, etc. The work of this new cultural space has been co-financed between the Cabildo, which has contributed five million euros, and the City Council, which has contributed some three and a half million euros.
