More than 900 students have left this year for Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Canada to enjoy the Language Immersion Scholarships (BIL) that offers the Council of Tenerife through the area of Education and Youth.
This year twice as many students have traveledgiven that the 2021-22 class left at the beginning of the summer, which was unable to do so due to the pandemic, during the first days of September the students of the 2022-23 class left to study in those countries for the first quarter of the course, and in In the summer of 2023, the students of the Impulse, training during the course and summer trip modality will be the ones who travel, indicates a note from the Ministry.
The Minister of Education and Youth, Concepción Rivero, considers that it is not only an opportunity to learn and improve knowledge of a language, “but it is a unique life experience, as the young scholarship recipients tell us in editions previous”.
Rivero affirms in the note that the Cabildo de Tenerife makes a significant investment effort in the BIL, in this case, between the two promotions that travel this year, The program was endowed with 5,771,775 euros, which have benefited 909 young people.
Rivero adds that “undoubtedly it is money very well spent to optimize the language skills of these students, who already have a brilliant academic record.”
In these groups that have already started their scholarship, the average mark of the students has been 9 or higher and more than 90% percent of the selected students study in public educational centers.
