The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands has published the call and the bases for the granting of subsidies for the financial year 2022 aimed at supporting the creation of tourist products in the local corporations of the Canary Islands and improving the tourist experience in the 88 Canarian municipalities.
For this, the Government of the Canary Islands will allocate an economic investment of 500,000 euros, which may be increased when there is budget coverage to carry it out.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Teresa Berástegui, explains in a note that these grants seek to provide support to local corporations for eligible activities that promote the creation, development and marketing of sustainable tourism products and services.
Likewise, he points out that “these projects must value resources linked to the territory, the natural heritage and the culture of the Canary Islands and must add value as quality tourist experiences linked to our culture and identity”.
Among these initiatives, the networks of work between different agents and product clubs to plan and manage tourist experiences stand out, as well as the routes that enable tours around natural and cultural resources, including those derived from the use of new technologies, such as reality. virtual or augmented.
The list of local corporations that can benefit from this aid includes city councils, councils, associations of municipalities, autonomous bodies and public business entities, consortiums and commercial companies in which municipal entities and public foundations are integrated.
Corporations that are interested have a period of 15 business days to submit their request, from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.
Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, in accordance with the evaluation criteria included in the bases.
The provisional resolution of the concession, for the purposes of its notification, will be published on the bulletin board of the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce.
