The City Council of San Miguel de Abona increases its budget for study aid for students by 46% for the course that is beginning. This is how the mayor, Arturo González, and the Councilor for Social Services, Nuria Marrero, make it known, who explain that the Consistory allocates 270,000 euros for a call whose deadline for submitting applications comes into force from today, until day 26.
The councilor defends that the budget increase compared to last year «we consider it necessary and a priority, taking into account the rise in price of many products, including school products. We must continue betting on an education in equal conditions », he adds.
Marrero points out that it is a response from the Consistory to support the neighbors in the current economic situation, which “leads us to reinforce this much-needed aid, always thinking about the students and their training, so that it is not diminished.”
Families with children who are in Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate and Training Cycles, in addition to university and postgraduate studies, can access this aid. The amount that each beneficiary family will obtain will vary depending on the income and studies for which the aid is requested, which will be distributed as established in the regulatory bases.
