An agent from the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, who was off duty, has arrested a 59-year-old man who tried to snatch a woman’s bag on Islas Canarias Avenue in the capital a few weeks ago.
The arrested person, who was identified as JABG, was used with violence and even threw the 71-year-old victim to the ground.
This local police officer, who is assigned to the Women’s Assistance Group (GRAMU), was driving in his private vehicle when he observed the events.
After getting out of the car, he managed to retain the perpetrator and demanded help through the Local Police Control Room for reinforcements and a health resource.
The first police patrol in the capital to arrive at the scene proceeded to shackle the detainee and took him to the police station.
