The Tenerife North Airport-City of La Laguna will launch this Monday free parking for parking less than 10 minutes in the arrival and departure lanes of the terminal building façade.
This has been reported by Aena in a press release in which it adds that the objective is to facilitate the pick-up and drop-off of passengers, allowing private vehicles that need to stop for a few minutes to park.
In this way, fifty seats will be made available to users – four of them reserved for people with reduced mobility and five for emergency and security vehicles – which will allow the pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
In addition, it is expected that this will speed up the operation of the roads on the façade and allow more users to access the use of these parking spaces in an orderly manner.
This express car park has a properly marked road and has entry and exit barriers. The latter will open automatically at the exit without the need to go through the cashier, as long as those first 10 minutes of parking have not been exceeded.
Here, Aena has pointed out that this is due to the automatic license plate reading system, which makes the process even more agile.
Tenerife North Airport, the first in the Canary Islands to have express parking
With this fast parking model, a service is incorporated into the airport that is already enjoyed by users of many other airports in the Aena network in Spain, Tenerife Norte-CLL Airport being the first to offer it in the Canary Islands.
Specifically, the model has already been implemented at the AS Madrid-Barajas, JT Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Alicante-Elche, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Bilbao, Santiago-Rosalía de Castro and Vigo airports, and it has resulted in a notable improvement in the service provided and in the organization and fluidity of the traffic that runs in front of the terminal buildings.
On the other hand, the chosen parking system, with the cars parked on the battery, will allow a much more comfortable unloading of the trunk, and will also provide drivers with greater visibility and safety during manoeuvres.
