Turismo de Tenerife, through the Tenerife Film Commission, has organized five training courses aimed at audiovisual professionals interested in executing film, advertising, series and television production projects.
This has been reported by the Cabildo in a press release in which it adds that the objective is to continue promoting the specialization of the sector in the island market, since during the past year the island it hosted 190 productions and recorded an economic impact of more than 58 million euros.
In this way, the training offer is carried out under the coordination of the Tenerife Film Commission and with the collaboration of Canary Islands Film, the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands, the IFIC Film Institute and GEA.
The island’s director of Tourism, Laura Castro, has pointed out that “it is important to continue promoting powerful projects from the Tourism area, generators of economy and employment that are nourished by our portfolio of professionals.”
“For this, we understand that training is crucial, to continue reinforcing audiovisual production and making the most of the talent of our technicians and professionals. In addition, to promote our territory as a filming location,” he said.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, and head of the Tenerife Film Commission, David Pérez, has observed that he wants to continue implementing training activities for advice, training and job training in the sector, “that contribute to promoting growth and maximum development of audiovisual creation”.

For its part, On September 26, a course on Executive Production: ways of financing an audiovisual project will be given.
The objective of this training, which will last until Friday, September 30, is for Tenerife producers to identify the different financing alternatives, subsidies and tax incentives, for their feature film or series projects in the Canary Islands and to be able to use them in their next projects.
The training action Responsible for locations and the ABC of filming permits is also planned, to train professionals in Tenerife audiovisual production to work within the location department in a national or international filming, in order to be able to offer services of quality to the film, TV and advertising productions that are shot on the island.
The programming will also include a course on Production Coordination, an important figure for good logistics in the production of feature films, commercials or television series.
Here, the objective of the course is to give an overview of the different tasks that this person is in charge of, such as the coordination of trips, transfers and accommodation of the team, documentation and actor contracts, and assistance to the directing department. to take into account your needs for technical and artistic equipment, suppliers, among other services.
Last May, the first of the courses was held, on the Ecomanager profile, in which 17 people took part, audiovisual production professionals and environmental technicians interested in designing, planning and supervising the sustainability of film projects.
Finally, in July the second scheduled course was given, on Production Management, with twenty participants. The objective of the training was to offer people who work as production managers and want to be promoted to a management position, the aspects to take into account associated with the functions and responsibilities of that position in each of the work phases.
