The Canarian Coalition-Canary Nationalist Party (CC-PNC) group of the Cabildo de Tenerife demands the recovery of the Ansina intervention and revitalization program for the elderly, and describes the current social tourism campaign as “poor and insufficient”. The nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, explains that “the elderly have spent two and a half years without the activities they did with the Ansina program. Pedro Martín and Marian Franquet said they would make a new plan but the reality is that there is nothing. We demand that it recover to meet the needs of the elderly in Tenerife.
«Now they present the social tourism campaign, something that is not new because it had been going on for more than a decade, and they want to sell it as a great achievement, when the reality is that there are only 576 beds for the 150,000 elderly people in Tenerife. Namely; It will only reach 0.3% of the population over 65 years of age”, explains Alonso.
For the spokesman for the Canarian Coalition-Canary Nationalist Party “we must be more ambitious and serve our elders as they deserve. They give 10 places to each city council and then they will distribute the other 266 depending on the population, but that is completely insufficient ». And he added in a press release: “It is one more example of the lack of management and the abandonment of the elders of the PSOE.” In that sense, he recalls that Ansina was developed in 230 associations and 20 residences and benefited approximately 50,000 people.
